The so-called “Chinese Nostradamus“ claims to know what lies ahead in the ongoing conflict between the US and Iran in the Middle East.
Professor Xueqing Jiang became popular online through the predictions he makes on his YouTube channel “Predictive History“.
In May 2024, the Chinese-Canadian professor made three predictions about the future that seemed to come true, leaving his 1.9 million subscribers in shock and leading to him being dubbed “Chinese Nostradamus“ after the late French astrologer who made a series of eerily accurate predictions.
Jiang made the predictions during lectures at the high school where he works before uploaded to the video-sharing platform.
Two of Jiang's predictions came true months after they were made. One included that Donald Trump would win the 2024 presidential election and regain power.
The Yale graduate also predicted in 2024: “If Trump becomes president for a second term, there is a very high probability that the United States will go to war with Iran.“
Both were right on target, meaning fans were biting their nails after hearing Jiang's third prediction.
The United States and Iran have been at loggerheads since the former launched missiles at the latter on February 28, plunging the region into conflict. In response, Iran has struck Israel and other countries in the region, usually targeting American military bases.
Days after the start of war The US announced that it had killed Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, among multiple bilateral strikes as many nearby countries closed their airspace for security reasons.
Trump even claimed that the war with Iran was now “almost over“ after speaking with Russian President Vladimir Putin, but with Iran's latest attacks in the Persian Gulf, that doesn't seem to be the case.
What did Professor Xueqing Jiang predict?
He said that the US war with Iran would be driven by Israeli interests as the US-Israeli Operation Epic Fury continues.
Jiang's third and final prediction for the conflict was that against all odds, the US would lose.
The professor looked at hypothetical scenarios for war, claiming that any US attack on Iran would be a disaster, explaining: “The third major prediction is that the US will lose this war, which will change the world order forever”.
He went on to back up these predictions, claiming that Iran's demographics and topography would make any long-term US occupation of its territory impossible.
In one video, the professor stated: “If a US-Iran war were to happen, there is absolutely no way America could win it“.
Jiang even compared the situation to the Sicilian Expedition, spanning 415 to 413 BC, in which Athens launched military operations to seize and control Sicily, fighting Sparta, Syracuse, and Corinth - it ended disastrously.
On his channel, he explained that he used “psychohistory“ to understand the world's past, predict its future, and control its present.
Will Professor Xueqing Jiang confirm his predictions in 2026?
In the past, he claimed that the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps “wants war with the US because it is very angry about US interference in Iran“.
The scholar continued: “We can suspect that a second war with Iran during Trump's term will be a top priority. Basically, the US is looking for a reason, and Iran wants to give it to them, and that is why I think a war between the US and Iran is very likely in the next two to four years”.
Earlier this month, Jiang defended his position, stating: “Given the Given my analysis of how the war is unfolding, I think Iran has a much greater advantage over the United States.
“The reality is that right now it is a war of attrition between the United States and Iran, and the Iranians have been preparing for this conflict for 20 years.“
He said they had “training sessions“ last year to prepare, adding: “What the Iranians are doing is waging war on the entire global economy“, referring to closing the Strait of Hormuz.
