The Israeli army has attacked the head of Iran's security service, Ali Larijani, Reuters reports, citing four Israeli officials.

It is not clear whether he was killed or wounded.

Larijani was one of the targets of strikes carried out by the Israeli military in Iran tonight.

Tehran has not commented on the information so far.

If his death is confirmed, he would be the highest-ranking Iranian official killed since Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, who died on the first day of the war.

Larijani - a former nuclear negotiator and close Khamenei's ally was seen in Tehran on Friday participating in Quds Day rallies.

Later that day, the US offered a reward of up to $10 million for information on senior Iranian military and intelligence officials, including Larijani, as part of a list of ten figures linked to the Revolutionary Guard.

A number of Israeli media outlets reported that the strikes also targeted Gholamreza Soleimani, head of the Basij paramilitary force, and other senior Basij figures, with the outcome of the attacks still being analyzed.
