The funeral of Ali Larijani, secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council, will be held in Tehran on March 18, Fars news agency reported.
Larijani's son, Mortaza, and his chief of security were killed along with the influential Iranian leader.
Ali Larijani was killed on March 17 in an airstrike in Tehran carried out by Israeli forces.
He was the target of a “precision midnight strike“ in the Iranian capital while he was there with his son.
The operation was carried out by the Israeli army (IDF) as part of the military campaign against the Iranian leadership that began in late February 2026.
His death was first announced by Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz and was later confirmed by Iranian authorities and state media.
Gholamreza Soleimani, commander of the Basij paramilitary force, was also killed in the same strike.
Larijani was considered one of the most influential figures in Iran after the death of Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei earlier that year, playing a key role in the country's defense strategy and nuclear policy.
Larijani had a doctorate in philosophy and was a deep researcher of Immanuel Kant, with a dissertation on his work Critique of Pure Reason.
The 67-year-old member of the Faculty of Literature and Humanities at Tehran University was also Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and Mathematics.
