Trump threatens to destroy Iran's South Pars gas field if Tehran attacks Qatar again - 1

US President Donald Trump said that Israel will no longer attack facilities in Iran's South Pars gas field.

“The United States knew nothing about this attack, and Qatar was not involved in any way, nor did it have any idea that it was coming“, he wrote in Truth Social. The American leader believes that the Jewish state carried out the attack “out of outrage at what is happening in the Middle East“. According to the American president, “only a small part“ of the field's facilities were damaged. The head of the administration in Washington stressed that “Israel will no longer attack the extremely important and valuable South Pars gas field, unless Iran makes the unwise decision to attack a completely innocent country – in this case Qatar“.

“With or without Israel's cooperation and consent, we will completely blow up the entire South Pars gas field“ if the Islamic Republic attacks Qatar. "I don't want to allow such destruction because of the long-term difficulties it will create for Iran in the future, but if Qatar's LNG facilities are attacked again, I will do it without a doubt," the US president added.

Foreign ministers from 12 Arab and Islamic countries who met in Riyadh called Iran's strikes on Gulf Arab states unjustified and called on Iran to stop the attacks.

This was stated in a statement issued after the talks.

“Iran's strikes on Gulf countries cannot be justified in any way, as they target civilian infrastructure and residential areas.

Tehran must immediately stop these attacks,” Al-Hadath TV quoted him as saying. Participants in the Riyadh meeting also reaffirmed that Gulf Arab states "have the full right to self-defense" and agreed to "continue cooperation to stop Iranian aggression."

The talks were attended by the foreign ministers of Azerbaijan, Bahrain, Egypt, Jordan, Qatar, Kuwait, Lebanon, the United Arab Emirates, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Syria and Turkey.
