The Israeli military confirmed that it carried out airstrikes in northern Iran tonight.
Iranian naval ships were hit in the Caspian Sea port city of Bandar Anzali, Jerusalem Post reports.
The military said the strikes were carried out by the Israeli air force based on intelligence provided by the Naval Intelligence Division and the Military Intelligence Directorate.
According to the military, this is the first time in the current war that the Israeli military has struck northern Iran.
Israeli military say they will provide additional details about the strikes later.
Israel coordinated with the United States in its strikes on Iran's South Pars natural gas field, a U.S. official told The Times of Israel.
The United States was aware of the attack but did not participate in it.
