Ukraine has deployed interception teams to protect critical and civilian infrastructure in five Middle Eastern countries, the Secretary of the National Security Council of Ukraine Rustem Umerov said after a visit to the region, Reuters reported, BTA reported.
"Work is underway to expand the areas covered," Umerov wrote on the "Ex" social network.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that Ukraine is sending three teams with all the necessary equipment to the Middle East to help protect against Iranian attacks with "Shahed" drones.
The Ukrainian leader pointed out that the first countries to which Kiev is sending its teams are Qatar, the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia Arabia.
The Ukrainian news agency Ukrinform reported that the United States has asked Ukraine for specialized support in combating the "Shahed" drones.
