G7 foreign ministers said on Saturday they were ready to take necessary measures to support global energy supplies and reaffirmed the key importance of protecting sea lanes, including the Strait of Hormuz, Reuters reported.

“We express our support for our partners in the region in light of the unjustified attacks by the Islamic Republic of Iran and its proxies“, the foreign ministers of Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the United Kingdom and the United States, as well as the EU's High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaia Kallas, said in a joint statement.

“We condemn in the strongest possible terms the regime's reckless attacks on civilians and civilian infrastructure, including energy infrastructure“, the G-7 representatives also said.

Over 1,500 people have died in Iran since the start of the US-Israeli war against the country three weeks ago, the Islamic Republic's state-run Radio and Television (IRIB) reported on Saturday, citing data from the Iranian Health Ministry, DPA reported.

According to IRIB, more than 200 of those killed in Iran were under the age of 18. Another 21,000 people were injured, the media outlet reported in "Ex" (X).

Around 220 medical centers have been evacuated and 21 medical workers have died, Iranian television added.

The data was released after Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz said that Israel and the United States would significantly intensify their attacks on Iran in the coming days.
