London: No evidence Iran is targeting missiles at Europe - 1

Housing, Communities and Local Government Minister Steve Reid said there is no evidence to support claims that Iran is planning to launch missile strikes on Europe or is even capable of doing so, Reuters reported, BTA reported.

Yesterday, the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) posted a message on social media claiming that Iran possesses missiles that "can reach London, Paris or Berlin".

"There is no objective assessment to support this claim. "I have not received any information that Iran has even tried to target Europe, let alone be capable of striking the continent," Steve Reid told the BBC.

In a separate interview with "Sky News" Steve Reid said that US President Donald Trump had expressed a personal opinion when he threatened to destroy Iranian power plants if Tehran did not lift the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz within 48 hours.

When asked how the minister would define the UK's position on this deadline set by Trump, Reid said that "the US president is perfectly capable of expressing and defending his own position".

"We will not allow ourselves to be drawn into this war, but we will defend our interests in this region. We will work with our allies to de-escalate," the minister added.
