Ukraine has received more than 193 billion euros in aid from the European Union and its member states since the full-scale Russian invasion in 2022, Prime Minister Yulia Sviridenko said today at an informal meeting of the EU Foreign Affairs Council in Kyiv, Ukrinform reported, BTA reported.

Sviridenko thanked the partners for their support. “Since February 2022, Ukraine has received more than 193 billion euros in aid from the EU and its member states. This allowed us to stand firm, to continue resisting Russian aggression and to undertake reforms,” she said. Sviridenko stressed the importance of international support and the urgent need to unblock EU loans, saying that this was a matter related to Ukraine’s defense planning and its resilience in the face of constant security threats. She also said that Ukraine had received final compliance assessments for all clusters and was now including them in the National Program for Alignment with EU Law, which will be adopted soon. “We are working to implement all necessary reforms,” Sviridenko said. The Ukrainian prime minister also stressed that Ukraine was ready to share its experience in maintaining its energy system in wartime. “We have already started preparations for the next heating season and are restructuring the energy system within the framework of regional resilience plans.” “Energy is a sector in which we need to deepen cooperation with European partners in order to strengthen energy independence together,“ she noted.

The EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaia Kalas earlier said that it is important for both Kiev and Brussels to fulfill their obligations in the process of Ukraine's accession to the EU, Ukrinform recalls.
