Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi said she had agreed with French President Emmanuel Macron to work closely to open the Strait of Hormuz, Reuters reported, quoted by BTA.
The two leaders held a meeting in Tokyo dedicated to security and industrial cooperation.
The French president is on an official visit to Japan aimed at strengthening bilateral relations in the fields of nuclear energy, technology and space innovation. He is accompanied by first lady Brigitte Macron and a delegation of ministers, including Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot and Armed Forces Minister Catherine Vautrin.
