US President Donald Trump said the United States is close to achieving the key objectives of the operation against Iran.
“Our military has performed exceptionally well. Nothing like this has ever been done in military terms - everyone says so. And tonight I am pleased to report that these key strategic objectives are close to being achieved“, he said in a televised address to the nation from the White House.
He announced that Iran's naval and air forces have been destroyed and that its missile capabilities will soon be minimized.
“Our objectives are simple and clear. "We are systematically destroying the regime's ability to threaten the United States and project power beyond its borders. That means destroying the Iranian navy, which is now completely destroyed, inflicting immeasurable damage on its air force and missile forces, and dismantling its defense-industrial complex. We have done all of that. Their navy and air force are gone. Their missiles will soon be depleted or destroyed," he said.
