The UN Human Rights Council resolution against the DPRK is a provocation aimed at the country's dignity and sovereignty, says the North Korean Foreign Ministry in a statement.
„The resolution, fabricated at the initiative of countries hostile to us, is a fraudulent political document containing false data that distorts our policies and reality in the field of human rights. The Foreign Ministry is considering the adoption of the „human rights resolution“ as a serious political provocation against the dignity and sovereignty of our state and condemns and rejects it in the most categorical manner“, the statement carried by the KCNA news agency said.
A ministry spokesman pointed out that the noise about DPRK human rights in the UN was fueled by hostile forces that do not represent the views of the entire international community. “The adoption of the resolution clearly demonstrates the pitiful state of the UN human rights forum, which is imbued with politicization, selectivity and double standards“, the diplomat noted.
He called on the Human Rights Council to take practical measures to consistently investigate crimes against humanity committed by “hegemonic forces“ in the Middle East, and hold them accountable.
“The DPRK's position remains absolutely unchanged, determined to reliably defend the dignity and sovereignty of the state, the rights and interests of the people from any threats and intrigues of hostile forces. The evil actions of countries that, blindly obeying hostile forces, have offended the most popular and just social system of our country will certainly be addressed“, the statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.
