Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said in a telephone conversation with his Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov that US threats to strike the country's energy infrastructure constitute an “admission of war crimes“, the Iranian Foreign Ministry reported on its Telegram channel.
The Iranian minister also noted the need for “urgent action“ by international organizations, including the UN Security Council and the IAEA, to condemn US crimes and hold those responsible accountable.
The Iranian military will carry out strikes on US infrastructure in the Persian Gulf similar to those bombed on Iranian territory, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghaei said.
“We will respond to attacks on our infrastructure with attacks on similar US or related facilities in the region,“ Baghaei was quoted as saying by Al Jazeera.
