US President Donald Trump said he told Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that Israel would have been destroyed if he had not withdrawn from the 2015 nuclear deal brokered by former President Barack Obama, the Times of Israel reported.
"I told Bibi Netanyahu that yesterday," he said at the White House.
Trump also wonders why most Jews vote for Democrats.
"How can Israel vote for a Democrat - if you're a Jew in New York or anywhere else in this country, it's amazing how you can vote for a Democrat because (Obama) chose Iran," he said Trump.
The president attacks the Kurds when asked if he would like them to join the war.
"I would rather have them stay out of the war because I think they bring with them some problems and difficulties... They bring death... to themselves," he replied.
He had previously suggested that the Kurds had retained weapons given to them by the United States that were intended for use by protesters in Iran. He provided no evidence for that claim.
