Al Hadath: Ceasefire agreement between Lebanon and Israel could come into effect as early as April 11 - 1

A ceasefire agreement between Lebanon and Israel could come into effect as early as April 11, Al Hadath TV reported, citing diplomatic sources.

The TV channel noted that the announcement of a ceasefire could serve as a goodwill gesture ahead of bilateral talks to resolve the conflict between Lebanon and Israel, scheduled to begin at the State Department in Washington on April 14 under the auspices of the US.

The situation surrounding a potential ceasefire agreement between Israel and Lebanon remains dynamic and controversial.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has ordered his cabinet to begin direct talks with Lebanon “as soon as possible“. Lebanese officials confirmed that the country is actively seeking a temporary ceasefire that would allow for broader talks.

There is a serious disagreement over the current ceasefire between the United States and Iran, announced on April 8. While Iran and mediator Pakistan say it includes Lebanon, Israel has categorically stated that the agreement does not cover its operations against “Hezbollah“.

Despite diplomatic efforts, Israel carried out massive airstrikes in Lebanon on April 8 and 9, described as some of the heaviest since the beginning of the conflict, killing hundreds of people.
