Two people died after an attack by the Ukrainian Armed Forces with a drone on a truck near the village of Voznesenovka in the Russian Belgorod region.
The news was announced by Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov on his Max channel.
In recent days, the Belgorod region has been the subject of increased Ukrainian attacks with drones and artillery, mainly targeting energy infrastructure and border settlements.
On April 9, civilians were reported injured in a series of drone attacks in various parts of the region, with residential buildings and cars being hit.
A week earlier, three people were injured in strikes in the region. There were also recorded damages to power lines, roofs of private homes and vehicles.
In late March, massive strikes on energy facilities left nearly half a million people without electricity in the Belgorod region.
On March 26, drone attacks killed two people.
Due to the intensity of the shelling and the situation in neighboring regions, local authorities declared a regional state of emergency.
Ukrainian forces are primarily using FPV drones and modified long-range aircraft to strike logistics hubs and oil depots in the region.
