Vance: No deal, we're going back to the US. Bad news for Iran - 1

The United States and Iran failed to reach an agreement at talks in Pakistan, Vice President J.D. Vance said.

“We're going back to the United States because there was no deal,“ he said.

Vance called it bad news for Iran, not the United States.

He said the US side “has very clearly outlined“ its “red lines“: what Washington is ready to accept and what it is not.

“But they decided not to accept our conditions“, the vice president said.

Earlier, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghaei indicated that success in the negotiations could be achieved with Washington's “serious attitude”, refraining from excessive demands and recognizing Tehran's interests.

“The success of this diplomatic process depends on the seriousness and good faith of the other side, refraining from excessive and illegitimate demands and recognizing Iran's legitimate rights and interests”, he wrote in X.

The ongoing negotiations in Pakistan include the following issues: the Strait of Hormuz, the nuclear issue, reparations, the lifting of sanctions and a complete cessation of the war, Baghaei specified. He described them as tense.

In the past 24 hours, the negotiations between Iran and the US included the Strait of Hormuz, the nuclear issue, reparations, lifting sanctions and a complete cessation of the war against the republic and in the region, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghaei said in X.

He described the negotiations as tense and lengthy for the Iranian delegation in Islamabad.

“The intensive negotiations that began on Saturday morning with the mediation of Pakistan have continued uninterrupted until today, with numerous exchanges of messages between the two sides,“ Baghaei wrote.

Iran intends to use all available means, including diplomacy, to guarantee its national interests and well-being, he noted.

Bagaei also expressed gratitude to the government and people of Pakistan for hosting the talks and for their efforts to advance the process.
