Iran is not currently planning a new round of talks with the United States, said Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghai, quoted by DPA, BTA reports.
“No decision has been made on this issue“, he said during a press conference in Tehran.
The situation remains tense, as the truce between Iran, the US and Israel, which has been in effect since April 8, expires tomorrow, with no clarity on future actions.
Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump said that a US delegation would arrive in Islamabad for new talks.
The previous round of talks between Washington and Tehran, held on April 11 in Islamabad, ended without an agreement to end the conflict. The main disagreements remain over control of the Strait of Hormuz and Iran's nuclear program.
Earlier today, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said the country would use all reasonable diplomatic means to reduce tensions, but stressed that "vigilance and distrust" of Washington remained necessary, the state news agency IRNA reported.
