Estonia: no evidence that Russia is preparing an attack on NATO or the Baltic states - 1

Estonian Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna said that the country has no information that Russia is preparing a military attack on NATO or the Baltic states, News.bg reports.

In a post on Facebook, he stressed that he had expressed disagreement with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sibiga with the allegations that the region could be the next target of Russian aggression.

According to him, such statements do not correspond to intelligence data and do not contribute to security, but on the contrary - can undermine unity between allies and serve the interests of the Kremlin.

“We do not see Russia concentrating forces or preparing for an attack on NATO or the Baltic states“, he stressed Tsahkna.

He also noted that Ukraine has managed to regain some of its territory in recent months, while the Russian economy remains under pressure, despite increased revenues from higher energy prices.

Despite the lack of an immediate threat, the Estonian minister stressed the need for continued strengthening of European security and increased defense spending by allies.
