Washington-Tehran talks remain uncertain - 1

The prospects for a new round of talks between the United States and Iran remain unclear, as both sides demonstrate different positions on the future of the conflict, the Associated Press reports, quoted by BTA.

Iran's chief negotiator Mohammad-Bagher Ghalibaf said on the social network X that Tehran would not participate in negotiations "under the shadow of threats", stressing that the country has additional options that it can use.

For his part, US President Donald Trump said that he was still considering sending a negotiating team, including Vice President J.D. Vance, to Islamabad, although Iran refuses to participate without a change in US positions.

Trump added that it was "very unlikely" the ceasefire should be renewed before it expires.

According to the data presented, since the beginning of the conflict, thousands of casualties have been recorded in Iran and neighboring countries, including Lebanon and Israel, as well as the deaths of soldiers from various countries involved in the region.
