Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said today that Ukraine is ready for talks with Russia in any format and at any time, Reuters reported, quoted by BTA.
He also said that representatives of Ukraine and the US had held talks yesterday.
"We very much hope for the resumption of the trilateral meetings and a return to the path that leads to an end to the war," Zelensky told reporters.
The Kremlin also said today that it hopes that US envoy Steve Witkoff and US President Donald Trump's son-in-law, Jared Kushner, will continue their visits to Russia to discuss a possible peaceful settlement to the conflict in Ukraine, reported Reuters, citing a statement by Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, published in the Russian news agency RIA.
The agency quoted Peskov as saying that it was not yet known when the next visit would take place.
Negotiations between Ukraine and Russia, brokered by Washington, to end the war that has lasted more than four years, have stalled after the United States and Israel attacked Iran, provoking retaliatory attacks on many countries in the Middle East.
