Ukraine is responding to Russian attacks on its energy infrastructure with reciprocal strikes aimed at sites critical to Russia, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said today, quoted by Ukrinform, BTA reports.
"We are attacking Russia where it hurts and it hurts badly. We see the results", Zelensky told reporters in a conference call on the WhatsApp application. "Their losses already amount to tens of billions, and these are critical losses for Russia," the Ukrainian president added.
According to him, the war in Iran has helped Moscow earn some money from energy carriers, but these funds are far from enough to cover its deficits. Zelensky said Ukraine would continue to respond to Russian strikes, especially when they target energy facilities or weapons plants.
The Security Service of Ukraine earlier reported that Ukrainian drones had struck oil tanks at the "Gorky" pumping station in Russia's Nizhny Novgorod region last night.
