Two killed in Israeli strike in southern Lebanon despite ceasefire - 1

An Israeli airstrike in southern Lebanon has killed two people, the Lebanese Ministry of Health reported, quoted by Agence France-Presse, BTA reports.

The attack was carried out after the extension of the ceasefire between the two sides.

According to the ministry, the strike was aimed at the city of Tulin.

Meanwhile, Reuters reported that the Israeli army has called on residents of Deir Ames, located north of the declared “buffer zone“, to leave their homes. The statement said the military planned to strike the area a day after a ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon was extended by three weeks.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said Hezbollah was using the area as a base of operations, but did not provide any evidence or specifics.

The military warned that any military activity in the area would result in an immediate Israeli response.
