Fighters of the Polish Air Force and its allies were raised on alert amid suspected Russian “activity“ in Ukraine, according to the operational command of the Polish Armed Forces.
The statement claims that “due to the activity of Russian long-range aircraft“ in Ukraine “military aircraft flights in Polish airspace have begun“.
“Ground-based air defense and radar reconnaissance systems involved in the incident have returned to normal operation“, the statement said.
It noted that no violations of Polish airspace were recorded.
The Polish military has been issuing similar statements regularly recently. These actions usually coincide with the issuance of an air alert warning in Ukraine.
