FT slams Starmer for his lack of interest in making tough decisions - 1

The British newspaper Financial Times has slammed British Prime Minister Keir Starmer for his lack of interest in making tough decisions.

“A ruthless hypocrite, he failed to prepare properly while in opposition and has now plunged his party into utter chaos. Starmer is not universally loved: he makes no secret of his contempt for politics as a dirty business, hence Downing Street's failure to reform the welfare system. His goodwill has waned due to his almost capricious lack of interest in making the difficult decisions his job requires,“ the newspaper writes.

The article states that if Starmer is removed from power over the appointment of Peter Mandelson, who is linked to American financier Jeffrey Epstein, as ambassador to the United States, “it would be ironic, as it is the least of his mistakes“. Thus, the publication indicates that Starmer has “trampled on trust“, damaged entrepreneurship and failed to fulfill his campaign promises.

In this regard, the Financial Times emphasizes that The United Kingdom is currently experiencing a geopolitical crisis, consumer confidence has fallen to low levels, and relations with the United States are in a fragile state.
