The rating of the party „Alternative for Germany“ (AfD) reached a record 28%. It is 4 percentage points ahead of Chancellor Friedrich Merz's Christian Democratic Union (CDU), according to a survey conducted by the INSA sociological research institute for the newspaper „Bild“.
Twenty-four percent of respondents said they would vote for the CDU, 14% for the Social Democrats, 12% for the Greens and 11% for the Left Party. The remaining parties would not pass the 5% threshold to enter the Bundestag.
The survey was conducted from April 20 to 24. A total of 1,203 people participated.
AfD leads the ranking of political parties in Germany according to almost all recent surveys by sociological services and institutes in Germany.
