The relations between German Chancellor Friedrich Merz and US President Donald Trump remain good, Merz himself said, despite a public exchange of criticism between the two on the topic of the war in Iran, Reuters reported, quoted by BTA.
„From my point of view, my personal relations with the US president remain good. However, from the very beginning I expressed doubts about what exactly is starting with the war in Iran. That is why it was important to emphasize it“, Merz said.
His comment comes after Trump criticized the German Chancellor for his statements on the conflict in Iran. In a post on social networks, the US president said that Merz „does not realize what he is talking about“.
