New Ayatollah: Iran to open new chapter for Persian Gulf and Strait of Hormuz - 1

The Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei said that the Islamic Republic will introduce a new legal framework for managing the Strait of Hormuz, which will mark the beginning of a “new stage“ in the history of the Persian Gulf and the strategic waterway, the Iranian news agency IRNA reported, quoted by BTA.

“The Islamic Republic, grateful for God's blessing to manage the Strait of Hormuz, will ensure the security of the Persian Gulf and put an end to the hostile use of this waterway“, Ayatollah Khamenei said today in his message on the occasion of the National Day of the Persian Gulf.“The new legal framework and system for managing the Strait of Hormuz will contribute to the welfare and development of all countries in the region, and its economic benefits will bring joy to the nation“, the leader added.“

Ayatollah Khamenei described the Persian Gulf as an incomparable blessing bestowed by Almighty God on the Muslim nations of the region, especially the noble people of Islamic Iran.“

In his words The Persian Gulf is more than just a body of water - it has shaped part of Iran's identity and civilization, serving both as a meeting place for peoples and as a vital and unique artery of global trade through the Strait of Hormuz and the Sea of Oman.

„This strategic resource has for centuries provoked the greed of many malevolent powers. The history of the numerous invasions by Europeans and Americans, the insecurity, the damage and the numerous threats they have inflicted and brought to the countries in the region reflect only a part of the malicious plans of the world's oppressors against the peoples of the Persian Gulf," the message said.

The most recent example is the threats and military provocations of the "Great Satan," Ayatollah Khamenei said, referring to the military aggression and illegal naval blockade by the United States.

“The Iranian people, who have the longest coastline on the Persian Gulf, have made the greatest sacrifices for their independence and for the protection of the region from foreign invaders: from the expulsion of the Portuguese and the liberation of the Strait of Hormuz, which inspired the declaration of April 30 as the National Day of the Persian Gulf, to the struggles against the Dutch colonialism and the heroic resistance against British imperialism.“

The Islamic Revolution marks a turning point in this centuries-old movement to expel the arrogant powers from the Persian Gulf, the leader noted.

Now, two months after the largest military mobilization and attempted invasion by the “world aggressors“, and after the humiliating failure of the American plans, “a new page is being written for the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz“.

Ayatollah Khamenei stated that over the past sixty days, the peoples of the Persian Gulf region have witnessed the courageous determination, vigilance and struggle of the Iranian naval forces of the army and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, along with the courage and valor of the residents and youth of the southern parts of beloved Iran, in the rejection of foreign domination.

By God's grace and through the blood of the martyrs of the Third Imposed War, especially under the wise leadership of the great leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, it has become clear to the world and the countries of the region that the US military presence in the Persian Gulf is the main cause of insecurity in the region, he noted.

“Empty American bases can hardly guarantee their own security, let alone that of their dependent or pro-American allies in the region,“ he stressed.

“God willing, the future of the Persian Gulf will be bright. It will be a future without America, dedicated to progress, peace and prosperity for its peoples. "We, the peoples and neighbors of the Persian Gulf and the Sea of Oman, share a common destiny, and the foreigners who greedily interfere here from thousands of kilometers away have no place except at the bottom of its waters," Ayatollah Khamenei said.

Today, 90 million Iranians at home and abroad perceive national resources, including identity, spirituality, human potential, scientific innovations, industry and technologies from nano- and bio- to nuclear and missile, as their common heritage, he added.

"They will guard them as faithfully as they guard Iran's land, air and sea borders," the ayatollah concluded.
