Iran presents new plan to mediator Pakistan to resolve conflict with US and Israel - 1

Tehran has presented Islamabad with a new plan to resolve the conflict with the US and Israel, the IRNA news agency reported.

“On Thursday evening, April 30, Iran handed over the text of the new plan to Pakistan as a mediator in negotiations with the United States“, the statement said.

Last week, the Americans unilaterally extended the ceasefire with the Islamic Republic until the negotiations are concluded. Later, Al Mayadeen TV reported that Tehran, through Islamabad, had proposed a three-stage formula to Washington for continuing the dialogue.

According to media reports, the first phase envisages an end to the war and security guarantees for Iran and Lebanon.

The parties will then discuss mechanisms for managing the Strait of Hormuz and only then will they deal with the Iranian nuclear program.

However, moving on to the third point is possible only after reaching an agreement on the first two.
A US official told Reuters that Donald Trump was unhappy with this proposal.

Subsequently, the Wall Street Journal reported that he was planning a long-term blockade of Iran. The US president considered the resumption of bombing or withdrawal from the conflict to be riskier options.

Meanwhile, the deputy speaker of the Iranian parliament, Ali Nikzad, called the Strait of Hormuz an “atomic bomb“.

“The Strait of Hormuz is not an international sea route, it is a sovereign privilege of Iran and our “atomic bomb“ and we firmly and resolutely defend this legitimate position,“ the news agency quoted him as saying Tasnim.

Nikzad stressed that the shipping regime in the Strait of Hormuz, in accordance with the decree of Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei, will never return to its previous format.

He also noted that Iran's achievements in nuclear energy, including enriching uranium to 60%, are the result of its “scientific power“.
