Ukrainian drones attack Ozon warehouse in Orenburg - 1

The logistics complex of the Russian marketplace Ozon in the Orenburg region was attacked by drones on the night of August 23.

The incident in the special economic zone “Orenburg“ led to an emergency evacuation and a halt to deliveries, becoming the second strike on the company's infrastructure in the last 48 hours. As of 9:38 a.m. Bulgarian time, the situation on the ground was under control and the fire was extinguished.

What happened in Orenburg?

According to information from Orenburg Mayor Albert Yumadilov, Russian air defense forces shot down several unmanned aerial vehicles over the city's industrial zone (Source: Vedomosti - vedomosti.ru). However, debris from one of the destroyed drones fell directly onto the territory of the Ozon logistics hub, causing immediate ignition.

The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation reported a massive wave in which a total of 328 Ukrainian drones were intercepted overnight over 17 regions, including the Orenburg region (Source: Meduza - meduza.io).

Evacuation and damage to goods

The marketplace's press service confirmed the incident and announced the following emergency measures:

  • Evacuation: Over 300 employees were evacuated from the building within minutes. According to preliminary data, there were no casualties.
  • Blocking orders: All goods located in the Orenburg warehouse have been temporarily removed from the online storefront and cannot be ordered (Source: OSN Media - osnmedia.ru).
  • Logistics Stop: The item has stopped accepting new shipments from sellers. Partners are urged to redirect their trucks to alternative logistics centers (Source: E1.ru - e1.ru).

Second consecutive attack on Ozon

The strike in Orenburg is a continuation of the systematic pressure on Russian trade logistics. Just a day earlier, on August 22, 2026, Ukrainian UAVs attacked another large Ozon distribution center in the city of Chapaevsk, Samara Region, where a large-scale fire broke out and employees were injured (Source: Moika78 - moika78.ru). Prior to these incidents, the main targets in the sector were the warehouses of the competing marketplace Wildberries.

In connection with the growing risks, cargo insurance at such facilities in Russia has recently been increased more than threefold. Local authorities assure that the airspace over Orenburg and Orsk is now open and the state of emergency has been lifted.
