Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov said that the contradictory actions and statements of US President Donald Trump's administration are making bilateral relations difficult, despite Moscow's commitment to work to improve them, BTA reports.
“The Trump administration is very contradictory in its actions and statements. This does not make the work easier,“ Ryabkov said, quoted by the state news agency TASS.
However, he stressed that Russia remains consistent in its pursuit of normalizing relations with Washington. "We are persistently and consistently pursuing a course towards normalizing our relations," the diplomat added.
Regarding possible new sanctions from the United States, Ryabkov told Interfax news agency that Russia has been building resilience mechanisms. "We know how to withstand sanctions. In recent years, we have developed instruments and schemes that allow us to significantly satisfy certain needs through import substitution," he said.
