Emil Dimitrov - Revizoro: Protesters may become radicalized, it's pouring into Radev's mill - 1

„At this stage, we have a request for intransigence, accompanied by a siege of the parliament, and if there is a conflict - the entire burden will fall on the law enforcement agencies. They must be both effective and not exceed their rights. And this is difficult to achieve in an environment where there is tension and confrontation. What the result will be - I don't know and I don't know if anyone has ever known”, political scientist Stoycho Stoychev told NOVA.

According to former PP-DB MP Vladislav Panev, the government has passed the point of no return. According to him, “the cabinet members are aware of this, but the question is whether the party leaders will let them go and resign”. In his words, for the BSP, for example, “this could be their last waltz”. Panev added that the protests are no longer just about the budget.

The former Minister of Ecology in Borisov's third government Emil Dimitrov commented that there are people who do not like the cabinet, but there are also those who approve of it. In his words, if attention is not paid to the protesters, they will become more numerous and may become radicalized. Another detail, according to him, is that “it is pouring into Radev's mill”.

Panev expects that there will be more people at the protest on Wednesday – "They are diverse, but they are united against Borisov and Peevski," he added. According to Panev, the political crisis can be contained with a gradual retreat by the government - to declare that it will resign, to schedule elections for March-April, but also to begin changes to the Electoral Code.

Stoychev believes that if the cabinet resigns, this will not be appreciated by the protesters, because they would not vote for GERB or "DPS-New Beginning". Panev added that Borisov will not resign because of Peevski.

Dimitrov, for his part, pointed out that radicalization during protests is wrong. He believes that the excesses can be deliberately provoked.

According to Stoychev, "with or without Borisov, these people will not stop protesting, because nothing cardinal will change in their lives, this does not change with just one person".

Panev said that the outcome of the protests should be resignation and new elections. According to him, then the voter turnout would be much higher.

Dimitrov commented that if resignation does not happen now, there is a risk of radicalization. "I see that they are pouring into both hands of Radev. Everything is being done with such force to help Radev collect the negative vote against the current ones that I don't know why they are doing it", he added.
