More than 170 unexamined files related to issuing a license for trade or production of military production has found the new composition of the Interdepartmental Council on Defense Industry. This was reported to BNT by the Deputy Minister of Economy, Angel Uzunov. For this reason, ammunition and military systems worth millions of BGN are blocked in our country and cannot be exported. The Minister of Defense Atanas Zapryanov, who together with the Minister of Economy is co-chairman of the Council, is committed to solving the problem within 10 days.
The new composition of the Interdepartmental Council for Defense Industry was formed immediately after the Easter holidays, is working and is already preparing its first meeting, announced the acting Deputy Minister of Economy Angel Uzunov:
"First of all, it should be noted that we found 170 files on which there was no ruling. We met them. Of course, new ones arrived as well, but in any case, each one of the files is being worked on very quickly. There will soon be a ruling by the commission on them."
Military Minister Atanas Zapryanov, who is the deputy chairman of the Interdepartmental Council for Defense Industry, is committed to speeding up the issuance of weapons licenses:
"They will be considered. Absolutely. Some businesses have a delay because the Council is being renewed, but this delay will be compensated and their documents will be reviewed and the relevant permits will be obtained. I think that very soon, within 10-15 days, this will happen.
The first meeting of the new Interdepartmental Defense Industry Council is scheduled for May 22. A reference to the draft agenda indicates that 21 requests for a license to trade or manufacture military products will be considered.
