Before my eyes, over the past three decades, a dangerous trend has been gaining strength in our country - more and more absolutely incompetent and totally incompetent people are being elected or appointed to high administrative and political positions! The worst thing - a large part of them, even after occupying these positions (sometimes for years), remain absolutely incompetent and totally incompetent. They do not learn and probably do not have the intellect and upbringing to learn.
Unfortunately, this is not just some exotic Bulgarian specificity. It is becoming a ubiquitous phenomenon, even on a European democratic-liberal scale.
But what Trump is doing is immeasurably more frightening.

I am reading an article by an American author - Charles Kushner. He is actually Jared Kushner's father and has served time in federal prison for a number of tax violations and other crimes (including a witness-revenge case in which he hired a prostitute to seduce his son-in-law and then sent a video of the encounter to his own sister). So you may be asking the obvious question: why is this convicted felon and father of the president's son-in-law the ambassador to one of the US's key allies (France)?
There is nothing more destructive to democracy than this shocking phenomenon in democratic countries - populist-Nazis, megalomaniacal imperialists, far-right narcissists or senile old men who have come to power through democratic procedures, to appoint their immoral and unworthy protégés everywhere and in the most key positions!
Democracy has always known that as a decision-making mechanism it is a οfairlyο simple and unbearably vulnerable mechanism - in it, those who are right are those who are more. And those who are more have never been guaranteed to be right, on the contrary, most often they were not right at all.
And that is why democracy has developed a number of its own techniques such as "go ahead and deterrence", "foolish defense", "foolish prevention", "moron counteraction", etc.
The destruction of these deterrent immune blockades and early signals of possible destructive consequences causes irreparable damage to democracy, turns it into hypocrisy legalized even through constitutions, turning politics into something dirtyο and dishonest, which deters decent and intelligent people from participating in it and it becomes an attractive treat for all sorts of vile people, insolent people, scoundrels and complete οshits.
What is most scary is everything that Trump does in this regard, because if we appoint a NNN (Someone of Our Disreputable People) to a high position, he will wreak havoc on a native, Bulgarian scale in the already desperate Bulgarian politics. But the consequences of Trump's insane personnel selection and pogrom are of global dimensions, they are the strongest poison that can finish off democracy and even more so - the very idea of democracy.
