The star of Bulgarian motor sports Nikola Tsolov is in Bulgaria for the opening of the new track in Samokov. The track is among the largest on the Balkan Peninsula, BNT reported.
A real euphoria among motor sports fans in Bulgaria was caused by the opening of "A1 Motor Park", a unique facility of its kind for Bulgaria with technical specifications that allow up to 21 different track configurations. The total length of the track is nearly 4 km. The start-finish straight exceeds 900 m, which allows speeds of over 280 km/h.
Bulgaria will have a track that will host various GT championship races in motorsports, as well as an FIA license for Formula 3 races, although this is unlikely to happen, since Formula 3 usually travels together with Formula 2 and Formula 1.
Nikola Tsolov commented to BNT what the opening of such a facility near the capital means and what doors it opens for young talents.
"I am very happy that there is finally a track that is very close to Sofia. It is very valuable to promote the sport more in Bulgaria. In my path, I had to spend a lot of time outside of Bulgaria, on different tracks, to prepare. Who knows what would have happened if I had a track at home to drive on and be even more prepared for many key moments for me. I am very happy and would come often," he said.
Nikola Tsalov will also do a lap of the track.
