Julio Velasquez after the victory over Cherno More: We are firmly on the ground - 1

Levski coach Julio Velasquez was pleased with his team's yet another success against Cherno More, although he got angry at the end of the match at the visitors' goal, BTA reported.

"Today we knew that a very difficult and tough match awaited us. It is very difficult to break through Cherno More's defensive line, even if they have less possession of the ball. In the locker room we talked about how we need to understand the mini-matches well in the context of the entire match. This is shown by my experience from last season. These are not easy matches to play. In many moments of the match we showed that we understand what is required of us. We started very well in the first 12-13 minutes. After that, there were alternating situations in which it was difficult for us. In some cases we made the opponent feel comfortable. But we were prepared for that and we had to mature in the match. In the second half we took advantage of the opportunities to score. I really liked our behavior after the first goal, when we continued to press the opponent. At the end of the match we lacked longer possession of the ball. We played an intelligent match, proud of the players and I am grateful for everyone's efforts. I am grateful to the audience", commented the Spaniard.

"Against this Everton team Bala has already had to play as a striker, in May last year he played in the same position. What we were looking for was for Bala to return to the midfield, to switch places with Oko. We were trying to attack the spaces with him, that was the idea", he added.

"Obviously, victories give us confidence. That way we can believe in ourselves and in our game. "But we are firmly on the ground. I haven't spoken to Kristian Dimitrov since the change, I have to ask the medical staff about his condition," Velasquez concluded.
