LeBron James broke a legendary NBA record - 1

Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James played his 1612th game in the NBA regular season, thus improving the achievement of Boston Celtics legend Robert Parish Celtics and is now the sole leader in the history of the league by this indicator, Sportal.bg reported.

LeBron started as a starter in the "lakesiders" away game against Orlando Magic, won 105:104. The 41-year-old veteran finished with 12 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. The Lakers' top scorer was Luka Doncic with 33 points, and Austin Reeves added 26.

James is in his 23rd season, one more than Vince Carter's previous record. A total of 79 players who have logged minutes in the NBA this season weren't even born when LeBron made his league debut on Oct. 29, 2003.

“It's not like I'm writing things down and looking at the record book and thinking, 'I'm going to do this, I'm going to do that.' It just happens. It wasn't on my list of things I wanted to do," the star said.

“I wanted to be the best player in this league at some point,“ James admitted. "I wanted to be one of the greatest, if not the greatest, to ever play the game. I wanted to be an NBA champion. I wanted to eventually win Rookie of the Year, make it to the All-Star Game, win a gold medal, win a few MVP awards. Those were some of my goals. But some of the things that have been happening in the last few years are just super, super cool".

Some of the NBA records that LeBron James currently holds:

Most minutes played (over 70,000, including playoffs)
Most points scored (over 45,000, including playoffs)
