Kazakhstan's Aktobe fires Nikolay Kostov - 1

Bulgarian coach Nikolay Kostov is no longer the coach of Kazakhstan's Aktobe after the team suffered two consecutive defeats, the media in the former Soviet republic reported.

The news of Kostov's dismissal was first spread by the website asnews.kz, and then it was developed and multiplied by other media in Kazakhstan. Many sports sources are even speculating who will succeed the Bulgarian at the helm of Aktobe.

According to sportarena.kz, Kostov is currently in Astana and it is there that he will have a final meeting with the club's management, after which details of the separation will be clarified.

„The decision on the issue with the Aktobe coach will be made in the next 48 hours. The club's management is going to Astana, where Nikolay Kostov is located, writes the telegram channel eldar amanvibe.

Aktobe, which is one of the most financially stable teams in Kazakhstan, is trying to become a club with European significance. The team attracted Portuguese superstar and former Manchester United player Luis Nani, as well as former defender of Bochum (Germany), Dynamo Moscow and Shakhtar (Donetsk) Ivan Ordets. Pablo Alvarez, known in the Bulgarian championship from his period in Cherno More (Varna), also plays there.

Aktobe started with a convincing 4:1 win over Tobol (Kostanay), but then fell 0:1 to Kairat and a heavy 1:4 to Elimay (Semey). It was this result that caused the management to decide to replace the Bulgarian specialist.
