Alexandra Feigin finished 23rd at the World Figure Skating Championships in Prague - 1

Alexandra Feigin finished 23rd in the women's event at the World Figure Skating Championships in Prague. The Bulgarian, who was 20th after the short program, made mistakes in the free skate and dropped several positions in the final standings. Her most serious mistake was a fall after a double flip. For her performance, she received 97.31 points (49.88 for technical elements, 48.43 for components and 1.0 penalty), which formed a total of 155.36 points, BTA reports.

After the competition, Feigin said that she was satisfied with her performance, despite the mistake in the free skate. She emphasized that she performed a clean short program, thanks to which she qualified for the final, and admitted that the tension before the free skate had an impact on her performance.

Despite the final ranking, the season ends positively for the Bulgarian. She recorded three personal bests, including a best overall score, which is over 20 points higher than her previous achievement in the fall of 2025. Her scores in both programs are also the strongest of the season. An important role in this was played by the decision to change her short program just two weeks before the championship - a move that turned out to be successful.

The world title was won by Kaori Sakamoto, for whom this is the fourth gold medal in the championship of the planet and the last competition in her career. She was flawless in the free skate and received a record 158.97 points, with a total of 238.28. After the end of her performance, the Japanese woman did not hide her emotions.

The silver medal went to her compatriot Monet Chiba with 228.47 points, and the bronze medal went to Nina Pinzarone with 215.20.

American champion Amber Glenn was unable to defend her position in the short program and finished sixth after making a number of mistakes in the free skate.

Ammi Nakai, who came in ninth, and European champion Nina Petrokina, who finished seventh, also made it into the top 10.

The World Championships continue with the men's and dance pairs competitions.
