Tensions are escalating in the Bulgarian Kickboxing and Muay Thai Confederation (BKKMT) after a number of clubs withdrew their confidence in the chairman Galin Dimov and requested the convening of an extraordinary General Meeting. During the regular reporting meeting in Varna, which lasted a record six hours, Dimov stated that he had approved and voted on his own remuneration, BTA reports. This caused serious reactions among the representatives of the clubs, who subsequently rejected both the substantive and financial report of the headquarters.
According to those present, it became clear that remuneration was paid not only to the chairman, but also to his relatives and acquaintances. Representatives of nearly 100 clubs have expressed dissatisfaction and indicated that there is not enough clarity about the spending of the funds allocated by the Ministry of Youth and Sports.
The clubs have lost their trust in the management and are demanding the convening of an extraordinary General Meeting at which a new management will be elected.
“We do not want this sport to suffer due to poor management and improper spending of public funds“, stated representatives of the clubs.
After the meeting, the member of the Management Board Dimitar Dimitrov resigned, stating that he was not familiar with the reports and actions of the organization in detail. According to the declaration adopted by the clubs, the situation seriously affects the development of sports in the country and requires urgent management changes.
