Former Trump advisor: US lacks capacity to implement its peace plan for Ukraine - 1

Trump's peace plan for Ukraine will not stop the war because the US lacks the "capacity" to implement it. This was stated by former senior advisor and chief strategist of the President of the United States Donald Trump - Steve Bannon in an interview with The American Conservative.

He claims that "America First is breaking the globalist mindset that we have the capacity to govern financially, economically, militarily and culturally anywhere and everything".

Bannon described the ceasefire plans in both Ukraine and Gaza as "sideshows to our vital national security interests".

He also called for a complete cessation of aid to Ukraine.

"We have to stop it. Everything. Money. Weapons. Intelligence. Support", Bannon insisted.

In November, Washington presented a 28-point plan for resolving the Ukrainian conflict, which caused discontent among Kiev's European partners, who tried to make significant changes to the document.

On November 23, the United States and Ukraine held consultations in Geneva. Trump subsequently announced that the initial US plan had been revised based on the positions of Moscow and Kiev and that only a few issues remained to be resolved.

On November 30, American and Ukrainian representatives held consultations in Florida and discussed ways to end the conflict, long-term solutions to security and economic issues, the prospect of elections in Ukraine, and the territorial issue.

Last week, Russian President Vladimir Putin met in Moscow with US President's special envoy Steve Witkoff and Trump's son-in-law, entrepreneur Jared Kushner. According to Kremlin aide Yuri Ushakov, the meeting, which focused on resolving the Ukrainian conflict, was constructive and meaningful. The parties discussed several versions of the peace plan and agreed to maintain contact.

Three days of talks between US and Ukrainian representatives ended in Florida on Saturday. According to the news website Axios, in the negotiations with Ukraine, the US is seeking to develop a new approach to resolving territorial issues.
