Europe faces destruction over immigration and energy policies, US President Donald Trump said during a speech in Mount Pocono, Pennsylvania.
“There are a lot of bad things happening in Europe. They have a very bad immigration policy, and it is destroying our beautiful Europe. I give them free advice: be careful, because immigration and energy will destroy Europe“, he said.
This is not the first time Trump has criticized Europe for its immigration policy. In mid-November, he said that the continent was being flooded by a wave of migration, which made it “not what it used to be“. In July, during a visit to Scotland, Trump said that immigration “kills“ Europe, calling the continent's migration processes a “horrible invasion“.
In the United States, Trump maintains a strict immigration policy. In late October, he signed an executive order reducing the refugee quota from 125,000 to 7,500 for the next fiscal year, which begins on October 1.
One of the key measures in his immigration policy is the deportation of migrants. Trump also banned citizens of 12 countries from entering the United States and imposed restrictions on seven more, including Afghanistan, Haiti, Iran and Yemen.
US residents have protested against immigration actions. In June, immigration police carried out actions in Los Angeles, detaining dozens of people. On the evening of June 7, Trump ordered the Pentagon to deploy units of the National Guard to Los Angeles.
