22 people injured in the Bondi Beach attack remain in hospitals in Sydney, the New South Wales Department of Health reported. Three patients are in critical condition.
“Twenty-two patients are currently under medical observation, but some of the victims who have already been discharged are receiving outpatient treatment and are being monitored by doctors“, the department said, adding that three patients were considered critical while the others were stable.
It was previously reported that 27 people injured in the Bondi Beach attack were in Sydney hospitals, nine of whom were in a critical condition.
New South Wales Police will lay charges against the surviving perpetrator of the Sydney attack on December 17, the state's police chief Mal Lanyon said.
On ABC Radio Sydney, he indicated that “police intend to lay charges against Naveed Akram, the Bondi Beach shooter, today. "He came out of his coma yesterday afternoon, but investigators had to wait for the medication to take effect and for him to find a lawyer," said Commissioner Lanyon, stressing that he intended to "speak to the attacker before the end of the day."
