Two people have died in a fire on a cargo ship in the port of Rostov caused by a drone attack by the Ukrainian armed forces. Another person died in Bataysk, and nine people were injured, Rostov Region Governor Yuriy Slyusar reported on Telegram.
“The attack on the port of Rostov led to a fire on a cargo ship, killing two crew members on board and injuring three others,“ he wrote.
The fire on the ship was extinguished in an area of 20 square meters.
In addition, one person died and seven were injured in the attack by the Ukrainian armed forces in Bataysk. Three of them were hospitalized, but doctors were unable to save one victim, Slyusar said.
Earlier, the governor reported that an airstrike by the Ukrainian Air Force in Rostov-on-Don damaged a multi-story building under construction, and two private homes caught fire in neighboring Bataysk, injuring four people.
The mayor of Rostov-on-Don, Alexander Skryabin, reported that a tanker was damaged in the drone attack, with fatalities and injuries. An oil spill was avoided.
