Viktor Orban: Further provision of money to Ukraine means more war - 1

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban considers the idea of continued financing of Ukraine by EU countries dangerous, as it will prolong the military conflict with Russia, TASS reports, quoted by Focus.

In a conversation with reporters before the EU summit in Brussels, the Hungarian Prime Minister once again expressed his disagreement with the provision of military aid to Ukraine in any way, whether through the expropriation of frozen Russian assets in the West or through a joint loan from European countries.

"I do not want the European Union to be involved in a war. "And giving money to Ukraine means war," Orban is categorical.

He also noted that he considers the initiative to expropriate Russian assets to be unfeasible, since negotiations on this issue have “reached a dead end“. He stated that the European Commission's proposal on this issue “does not enjoy sufficient support at the highest level“.

According to Orban, seizing Russian assets and transferring them to Ukraine will not lead to peace, but quite the opposite: “This means prolonging the war“, the prime minister summed up.
