The Russian government has authorized the Ministry of Defense to terminate a number of military agreements with Germany, Poland, Norway and other Western countries that were signed in the period from 1992 to 2002, TASS reported, quoted by dariknews.bg.

"To authorize the Ministry of Defense of Russia to terminate the following international treaties: the agreement between the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation and the Ministry of Defense of the Federal Republic of Germany, signed in Moscow on April 13, 1993; the agreement between the Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation and the Ministry of National Defence of the Republic of Poland in the field of defence, signed in Moscow on 7 July 1993; "the agreement between the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation and the Ministry of Defense of the Kingdom of Norway on cooperation in the field of defense, signed in Moscow on December 15, 1995," the document states.

In addition, TASS adds, bilateral cooperation agreements with Bulgaria dated August 4, 1992, with Romania dated March 28, 1994, with Denmark dated September 8, 1994, with Great Britain and Northern Ireland dated March 18, 1997, with the Netherlands dated June 18, 1997 have also been terminated. The agreements also include agreements with Croatia dated December 18, 1998, with Belgium dated December 19, 2001, and with the Czech Republic dated April 16, 2002.
