Moscow: The European Union is tired of spending money on a corrupt regime that then steals this money - 1

The so-called "Coalition of the Willing" or EU member states that intend to confiscate sovereign Russian assets in favor of Ukraine, will have to answer to the law for a long time. This was said in an interview with TASS by the Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on International Affairs Grigory Karasin, Focus reports.

"The so-called Coalition of the Willing – I call it the "Coalition of the Speakers" – is trying to tighten the ground to make this decision. I don't want to believe that they will succeed, because this is a very criminal plan, and those who will implement it will have to answer to their conscience, the law and international institutions for a very long time," Karasin said, adding that such an action would be expected in the EU.

"Every day we see on the screen some brilliant talkers who prove that "this is already necessary for Ukraine" to ensure its "economic development, defense capabilities", etc. In fact, they are simply tired of spending money on a corrupt regime that, among other things, steals this money," he added.

The majority of Russian assets are in Euroclear in Belgium, which does not back down from its decision not to allow their use. And the reason is the fear of possible legal and other actions on the part of Moscow, which has repeatedly stated that such a "crime" will not go unpunished. At the same time, Belgium wants guarantees of security for access to the assets, but most of the countries are reluctant to give them.
