Peace in Ukraine is getting closer. Moreover, the key result of the negotiations in recent days was the US declaration of security guarantees, including the deployment of American troops in Ukraine. Such a statement was made by Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk after the video conference of European leaders, writes "Ukrinform“, quoted by Focus.
"We assessed the result of the first stage of serious negotiations involving the leaders of Ukraine, the US, the EU and Canada. Peace has appeared on the horizon. There is no doubt that events have occurred that give reason to hope that this war can end quickly. But this is still hope, it is still far from 100 percent certainty," he told reporters.
According to Tusk, the United States has declared its readiness to participate in the security guarantees of Ukraine after the signing of a peace agreement. He noted that the security guarantees include the presence of American troops, for example, on the border or on the line of confrontation between Ukraine and Russia.
"These unambiguous declarations appear for the first time. We will see how consistent our partners on the other side of the Atlantic will be, but this gives hope for a successful end to these negotiations. I consider the end of the war to be a success," the Polish Prime Minister emphasized.
Earlier, the adviser to the Ukrainian President's Office Mykhailo Podoliak said that some countries were ready to send their peacekeeping contingents to Ukraine after the end of the war. According to him, these are France, Germany, Turkey and Great Britain.
