Russian-Ukrainian negotiations under the auspices of the US have begun in Abu Dhabi, the UAE Foreign Ministry announced today, quoted by Reuters, BTA reports.
"The negotiations began today in Abu Dhabi and are scheduled to last two days as part of ongoing efforts to promote dialogue and find political solutions to the crisis," the ministry said in a statement.
According to Zelensky, the trilateral peace talks in Ukraine will focus mainly on territorial issues, among which the Donbas issue remains key. "We discussed the main lines along which the negotiations will proceed, the topics and the desired result," Zelensky said, quoted by Ukrinform. He noted that the members of the Ukrainian delegation have already taken into account the fact that the formats of the negotiations may be different. "The delegation will make decisions directly on the spot and will react depending on how the dialogue develops, because this format is being used for the first time in a long time," the Ukrainian president added.
