The average price of a three-course dinner for two in a mid-range restaurant in Europe varies extremely widely – from about 20 euros to 160 euros, shows a study by the British platform FerryGoGo for 2026. The analysis covers the cost of meals without drinks and is used as an indicator of the general price level in different destinations, BTA reported.

Among the most expensive countries for dinner for two in 2026 are Switzerland with an average price of 107.24 euros and Denmark with 93.69 euros. They are followed by Luxembourg (90 euros) and Norway, where dinner costs an average of 77.96 British pounds or about 89.86 euros. A group of countries – Netherlands, Ireland, Finland and Belgium – share a similar level of around 80 euros. However, in some cities in Switzerland, such as Lugano and Zug, dinner reaches 160 euros.

At the other end of the ranking are the most affordable destinations, including many countries from Southeast Europe and the Balkans. The lowest average price was recorded in Kosovo - around 20 euros for dinner for two. This is followed by North Macedonia with 24.38 euros, Moldova with 30.32 euros, Bosnia and Herzegovina with 30.75 euros and Serbia with 38.34 euros.

Croatia ranks approximately in the middle of the European scale. The average price of dinner for two in the country is around 60 euros. Lithuania, Latvia and France are at a similar price level. Germany is slightly more expensive with an average price of 65 euros, while Spain and Slovenia remain more affordable - around 50 euros for dinner for two. Dinner for two in Greece costs fifty euros, in Montenegro it is five euros less, and in Romania and Albania a three-course meal for two costs an average of about 41 euros - one euro more than in Bulgaria.

The British platform FerryGoGo annually monitors the costs of traveling in Europe - from transport and accommodation to daily expenses, with eating out being considered one of the quickest indicators of how expensive a country is for tourists. Higher prices in restaurants usually go hand in hand with more expensive drinks, coffee and accommodation.
